Adolescent injuries

Adolescence is defined as the process of developing from a child into an adult.

The prevalence of injury amongst the adolescent population is very high. Culturally in Australia, sport in the younger population is very popular. Unfortunately injuries do occur and need to be managed to minimise chronicity and return the young athlete to sport safely.

At Sportsfizz, our Physiotherapists are experienced in working with athletes across a wide range of sports including Soccer, Rugby, AFL and Netball.

Common injuries and pathologies that occur in the adolescent athlete include;

  • Osgood-Schlatter’s
  • Severs Disease
  • Shin Splints
