    What is EP?
    K
    L

Exercise Physiology (EP) delivers personalised strength and conditioning programs tailored to support the health, performance, and recovery of individuals of all ages, abilities, and goals. EP is for everyone—whether you’re managing a chronic condition, recovering from injury or surgery, aiming to improve general fitness, or enhancing athletic performance. With a focus on individual needs, EP programs are designed to help manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity, prevent injury, restore post-operative strength, and support return-to-sport conditioning. No matter your goal, EP offers an evidence-based, client-centred approach to help you move and feel better for the long term.

What is the difference between EP and Physio?
    K
    L

Exercise Physiology (EP) specialises in prescribing personalised exercise programs for the prevention, management, and treatment of chronic health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and musculoskeletal conditions. They focus on improving long-term health and physical function through safe, evidence-based exercise, but do not perform hands-on treatment or diagnose injuries.

On the other hand, Physiotherapists assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute and chronic injuries and conditions. In addition to exercise-based rehabilitation, Physiotherapists use manual therapy, joint mobilisation, dry needling, shockwave therapy, and other hands-on techniques to manage pain and restore function. They commonly treat patients recovering from surgery, injury, or experiencing neurological or musculoskeletal impairments.

In short, EPs focus on exercise for health and prevention, while Physios treat injuries and restore movement using a broader range of therapies.

How do your practitioners work together?
    K
    L

At PPP, all practitioners collaborate to provide you with the most effective, holistic care possible. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or aiming to improve your physical performance, our team works together to help you feel your best and get back on track.

    What is Shockwave Therapy?
    K
    L

Shockwave therapy is a non-surgical treatment, and works by delivering impulses of energy, targeted to specific damaged tissues within the abnormal tendon. This increases the blood flow within the affected area, stimulating cell regeneration and healing, and decreasing local factors which can cause pain.

There is minimal to no downtime after shockwave therapy, though mild soreness or bruising may occur and usually resolves within a few days.

Shockwave therapy is an option within your physiotherapy treatment. Please call our clinic on 0429 00 44 11 to book your next appointment.

    What is Dry Needling?
    K
    L

Dry needling is a treatment technique used by physiotherapists to relieve muscle tension and pain. It involves inserting thin, sterile needles into tight or sensitive areas of muscle, known as trigger points. This helps release muscle tightness, reduce pain, and restore movement. Our practitioners use dry needling alongside other treatments such as manual therapy and exercise to support recovery and improve function.

Most people can resume normal activities after dry needling, though mild soreness or tightness may occur for up to 48 hours.

Dry needling is an option within your physiotherapy treatment. Please call our clinic on 0429 00 44 11 to book your next appointment.
